Transportation team coordinator

About the position

As Transport Team Coordinator, you are the link between the distribution center, planning and a large group of professional truck drivers. You ensure that they are well prepared to hit the road every day and support them with questions, challenges and developments in their work. You have a supportive, coaching role in which you monitor both the well-being of the team and the quality of daily operations. Together with fellow managers, the planning department and the fleet manager, you will ensure that everything runs smoothly within the fleet and distribution process. Your responsibilities In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Heading and coaching a team of approximately 45 drivers.
  • Ensuring clear working agreements together with two other team leaders.
  • Having 1-on-1 conversations and participating in periodic team meetings.
  • The preparation of work schedules and personnel planning.
  • Taking care of time and absence registration and other administrative tasks.
  • He conduct job interviews and complete onboarding of new drivers.
  • Regular contact with planning and the fleet manager to coordinate details around routes and vehicles.

What we are looking for

  • Mbo-4 work and thinking level, through education or relevant work experience.
  • 2-3 years leadership experience within logistics or transportation.
  • Experience with Office365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good command of the Dutch language.
  • Technical knowledge of trucks, tractors and/or trailers.
  • Knowledge of the Working Hours Act and the Driving and Rest Hours Act.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts (06:00-14:30 or 10:00-18:30).
