About the position
Are you an experienced buyer who gets energy from working in an international environment? For a leading hospitality wholesaler in Amsterdam we are looking for a Senior Buyer who takes responsibility for their own product portfolio and wants to make an impact within a fast growing organization. As a Buyer you are responsible for your own purchasing portfolio, consisting of approximately 100 suppliers from home and abroad. You ensure stock levels are maintained, monitor supplier performance, negotiate prices and promotions, and keep a close eye on market developments. You work closely with Logistics, Sales and Product Development and have a direct impact on the availability and quality of products on the shelf.
- Maintain strong relationships with (international) suppliers
- Forecast and manage minimum and optimal inventory levels
- Control order recommendations and place orders and call-offs
- Coordinate transport orders and import flows from countries outside Europe
- Monitor and communicate delivery times
- Beguard price agreements, contracts and supplier data
- Signaling and handling deviations, complaints and returns
- Collaborate on tenders, supplier evaluations and process improvements
- Actively contribute to product development and assortment expansion
What we are looking for
- Acquired education in the direction of Management, Economics or Supply Chain
- Amproved experience as a Buyer, preferably within the food or FMCG sector
- Solid communication skills in both Dutch and English
- You take ownership, think ahead and complete matters independently
- Analytical strong,
- Proactive in improving processes and identifying opportunities
- You understand how crucial on-time delivery and availability are for the customer
